That’s how I’m feeling right now. Not only did I give 6 classes on Tuesday but I also had to repeat that yesterday. And, the other teacher still being off sick, I’ll have to give another 6 clases today. So, that’s three days in a row.
The funny thing is she’s taking a 9-day holiday starting next Monday, so I’ll have to sub her all those days she’s away. If I don’t look like Mr. Universe after that, I never will.
I keep repeating to myself: it’s worth the pay… it’s worth the pay… it’s worth the pay…

Pace yourself. Teaching 6 Pilates classes shouldn’t mean that you have to DO 6 Pilates classes. The same way that an Ashtanga yoga teacher doesn’t practice with the students. You should only demonstrate if necessary, but mostly rely on verbal cues and walking around the room to assist the students.

I know, I know! I’m not a masochist! LOL.
There are some advanced classes during which I barely have to explain anything because they know the exercises by their names. However, many of my students are beginners and also many of the exercises I do are new to everyone because they’re used to the other teacher’s style. This means I still have to spend much time demonstrating, hence the soreness.
After reading my entries again, I’m now aware that you may not be the only one who thought that I was indeed practising all the while instead of assisting and explaining. So, thanks for the input.
